Clinching is a modern cold-joining technology for sheet metal — no welding, no rivets, no additional fasteners. The joint is formed purely by locally deforming the material, so protective coatings stay intact, no surface preparation is needed, and the process produces no fumes or spatter. It is fast, repeatable and easy to automate, and joint strength remains stable throughout the product's service life.
The technology excels wherever throughput and low unit costs matter: enclosures, HVAC components, automotive parts, and structures made of steel, galvanised and aluminium sheet. Clinching also joins sheets of different thicknesses and dissimilar materials.
