Clinching tools

Manual Clinching Tool

Hand-operated clinching tool for joining sheet metal — rectangular ducts, pocket filters, silencers, duct fans and other ventilation components. Requires no power supply and works directly on site.

Description

Tool advantages

  • creates a complete, form-closed clinch joint;
  • light pressure on the handles is enough, thanks to the powerful crank-type intensifier;
  • no power source needed — the tool can be used directly on site;
  • long service life thanks to a simple, robust design and the use of heat-treated tool steels;
  • adjustable pressing force, piercing level and clinch depth via die adjustment along three axes;
  • punch and die made of high-strength, hardened alloy steel;
  • quick and easy punch and die replacement;
  • easy positioning without tilting the tool — simply raise the working handle by 90 degrees; flange rails up to 30 mm are accommodated;
  • safe operation in fire-hazard facilities and on site — no sparks or fumes; environmentally friendly;
  • resistant to humid environments thanks to its galvanic nickel plating.

Description and applications

The manual clinching tool is designed to fasten a flange rail to a ventilation duct by creating a complete clinch joint, formed by compressing and plastically deforming the material. The tool features a crank-type intensifier actuated by the handles. This makes it mobile, versatile and convenient, allowing use in small and large plants, directly on site, and in dusty or fire-hazard areas. Multiple adjustment options make it possible to set the exact level, depth and shape of the clinch joint. Thanks to its reliability, undemanding maintenance and the speed with which the joint is formed, this manual clinching tool has proven itself at small and medium-sized manufacturers of ventilation systems and other equipment. It is ideally suited to the production of rectangular ventilation ducts, silencers, duct fans and pocket filters, the installation of rainwater systems, the joining of sheet material and rails, and similar work.

The tool is delivered with a set of forming tooling selected by the customer according to the specified total sheet thickness. Tooling replacement is quick and simple and requires no special fixtures or skills.

Advantages of clinch joints

  • high joint strength;
  • the joining point is formed instantly;
  • no limit on the number of material layers being joined;
  • parts made of different steels and alloys can be joined;
  • no additional fasteners required;
  • no heat input — corrosion resistance remains intact;
  • the rectangular joint point is ideal for high-hardness and stainless steels;
  • excellent quality of the finished products.

Die selection

When ordering, the die can be selected according to the total thickness of the sheets to be joined:

Die No. 1total sheet thickness 0.8–1.5 mm
Die No. 2total sheet thickness 1.6–2.0 mm
Die No. 3total sheet thickness 2.1–2.5 mm
Die No. 4total sheet thickness 2.6–3.0 mm
Die No. 5total sheet thickness 3.1–3.5 mm
Die No. 6total sheet thickness 3.6–4.0 mm
